The 30-Day Sugar Challenge
A calm, doable reset to help you feel clearer, steadier, and more balanced around sugar.

Sugar isn’t something to “fight” or “battle.” It’s a complex relationship shaped by biology, emotions, habits, and stress. This challenge is designed to help you explore that relationship with curiosity, compassion, and steady progress — not pressure or perfection.

Can small changes in your relationship with sugar make a big difference in how you feel?

 Absolutely — and it doesn’t require perfection.

When you give your body a break from the spikes, crashes, and nervous-system ping-pong of excess sugar, things start to shift.
Slowly at first, then noticeably:
   * Sleep feels deeper
   * Energy feels steadier
   * Mood stabilizes
   * Digestion calms Inflammation decreases
   * And your body feels more like you again

Life really does feel different — not because life changed, but because your internal experience of life changed.

Your senses sharpen.
Your mind clears.
Your emotions settle.
Your body becomes a calmer place to live.

Sugar isn’t “the enemy,” but it absolutely influences how your brain, liver, and nervous system function. This challenge helps you learn what happens when you give yourself a little more space, balance, and support.

I’m Dr. Kim Makoi, a mind-body chiropractor and Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) specialist. For over 28 years, I’ve helped thousands of people improve their health not just through physical adjustments, but through emotional and biochemical balance.

One thing I learned early in my career is this:

When blood sugar is dysregulated, everything else gets harder.

Not impossible — just harder.

Stress feels heavier.

Emotions hit differently.

Sleep gets clunky.

Healing moves slower.

Even NET (my beloved specialty!) has a tougher time landing when someone is riding the blood sugar rollercoaster.

Sugar isn’t “the villain,” but it does influence mood, energy, inflammation, and the nervous system more than most people realize. So addressing it gently — not aggressively — makes a huge difference in mind-body healing.

As I started helping people stabilize their sugar handling, I noticed something surprising:

improving blood sugar often created ripple effects in the rest of their health

Not because sugar is the root of all problems — it isn’t —

but because blood sugar impacts hormones, inflammation, mood, fascia, and the nervous system.

And when that system calms down, a LOT of things start working better.

People reported improvements in things like:

   * hormonal swings

   * headaches

   * brain fog

   * anxiety

   * sleep issues

   * back and neck tension hip pain

   …and more.

Not magic — just physiology settling into balance.

If you’re deep in sugar cravings or relying on sugar to cope, it can genuinely feel like life will fall apart without it.
You might think:
   * “It’ll be too hard.”
   * “It’ll be boring.”
   * “Sugar is my one comfort — why take that away?”
   * “What do I even treat myself with if not this?”

Those thoughts aren’t weakness — they’re physiology, stress, habits, and comfort all braided together. From inside the “sugar brain,” it’s almost impossible to imagine life feeling good without the thing that’s been helping you cope.
But here’s the truth:
You absolutely deserve comfort, pleasure, and treats — and they don’t have to hurt your body to feel good.
When sugar isn’t driving the bus, life can feel more stable, more joyful, and more you

This challenge isn’t about restriction. It’s about discovering what actually feels supportive and nourishing for your nervous system.

My own journey with sugar goes way back. The first time I came out of the “sugar fog” was about 30 years ago, shortly after starting chiropractic school. I’d been dealing with fatigue, brain-foggy focus, mood swings, and headaches for years — but every medical test kept coming back “normal.”

I knew something was off, even if nothing showed up on paper.

When a practitioner finally helped me identify blood sugar dysregulation, things clicked.

After adjusting my diet and giving my body a break from sugar, my energy lifted.

My focus sharpened.

My headaches eased.

My mood stabilized.

I even lost a couple of inches around my waist, which very much surprised me.

And like many people, I thought:

“Great! Problem solved forever.”

Cue the sad trombone.

Sugar patterns are not a “one and done” situation.

They ebb and flow with stress, sleep, hormones, emotions, and the seasons of our lives. I fell on and off the wagon more times than I can count — usually with a solid period of white-knuckling before inevitably starting again.

Eventually, I realized that grit alone wasn’t sustainable for me… or for my patients. What did work was a gentle, structured reset that supported the nervous system instead of fighting it.

That’s what inspired this challenge — a compassionate, doable program to help you explore your relationship with sugar in a steady, realistic way.

People often notice physical changes when they shift their sugar habits — but the real magic is how their whole life starts to feel better.

When your body feels more balanced, your whole experience of life changes.

With the 30-Day Sugar Challenge, you’ll explore your relationship with sugar in a supportive, doable way — without shame, extremes, or pressure.

This challenge isn’t about “just don’t eat sugar.” It’s about learning what actually supports your energy, mood, and nervous system.

You’ll receive:

   * Daily emails with guidance, insights, and gentle encouragement

   * Simple recipes and ideas for satisfying, enjoyable alternatives

   * Practical tools for navigating cravings and stress

  • Do I have to cut out ALL sugar during this program?
    No. Absolutely not.
    The challenge offers three gentle levels, and you get to choose the one that feels realistic and supportive for you right now.

    Level 1: Reduce added sugars
    (A great starting point that makes a noticeable difference.)

    Level 2: Avoid obvious sweets
    (Desserts, candy, sugary drinks — the big hitters.)

    Level 3: A full reset
    (For people who want to explore a deeper shift, without pressure or perfection.)

    You don’t need to do this perfectly to benefit.
    Even small changes can create meaningful improvements in energy, mood, and clarity.
  • How is this program delivered? Is it a lecture?
    No lectures!
    The 30-Day Sugar Challenge is delivered through daily emails that are easy to read and simple to follow.

    These emails are designed to be introvert-approved, shame-free, and totally doable — no videos, no long classes, no overwhelm.
  • Do I have to buy special supplements, shakes, etc. to do this program?
    Nope. Not at all.
    This challenge is designed to work with the food you already have and the life you’re already living.
